Very excited to be apart of this exhibition at the Living Arts Centre in my hometown of Mississauga, exhibiting next to wonderful artists Virginia Lee and Michael Rennick. I will be exhibiting several pieces, two of which I will be unveiling at the exhibition.
April 22 - May 25, 2014
Opening reception: Thursday, April 24, 7 - 9 pm
Event
Wonder & Whimsy features the work of three regional artists using fanciful designs to depict diverse narratives. Amanda Baron, Virginia Lee, and Michael Rennick offer mediations on dream sequencing and traditional folklore through works that capture the strange and curious. While imagery is symbolic and reminiscent of popular tales, characters portrayed suggest intricate autobiographical truths that encourage patrons to indulge their imaginations. Fantastical and full of whimsy, this exhibition explores the role of storytelling in art through a variety of forms, including contemporary drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, digital & mixed media collage.
